Tis the flu season, but it's also the who's-who season in the music realm. I'm not quite sure what I'm getting at either, but here's the rub, Chicken Little: I've compiled a 33-track mega-mix of Autumn-themed music for your iTunes. It's already tagged and ready to go, all you have to do is download the three zip files, broken down for your convenience, then extract the folder to the destination you wish. Each zip file can be extracted the same place for ease, as they will all come in the same file name. Then, upload these to iTunes, where it will (should) detect them all as the same album.
Last year, at the end of August, I wrote a blog here listing some of my favorite summer albums, and, oddly, I listed The Zombies as a favorite summer album. Sure, it has sunny melodies, but I seem to associate it with the fall more so. That's why I inadvertently included them here. I'm sure I could add to the summer album list now, but I've recently contracted an illness and should be resting instead of compiling music for you good folks.
Sure, you may find the two discs' worth of music to be an awful lot of music, but I can ensure you that there's good things to be found. Plus, it could've been much longer, mind you. A few omissions include Junior Boys' "When No One Cares", The Joggers' "Wicked Light Sleeper", Deerhunter's "Agoraphobia", Songs: Ohia's "The Lioness", The Mountain Goats' "Colour in Your Cheeks", Galaxie 500's "Decomposing Trees", Lou Reed's "Perfect Day" and anything Grizzly Bear.
On the other hand, for reference, here's an idea of the goodies you'll come to find on An Aural Autumn mix: the best cover of Bjork you've ever heard, some of my favorite artists, a great Leonard Cohen cover by the Walkmen as well as plenty of songs about summer ending, rain falling, people dancing, suntans fading and there's even a clip of Obama on my friend's track followed by another friend covering a Bob Dylan Vietnam protest song.
So here are those links I promised you, and if any artist included takes issue with their music being shared, please contact me. All of this music is available in other corners of the interweb, I've merely collected it. Plus, trust me, I buy your music and go to your shows. Yes, that was me. Plus, I have lower traffic than the smallest town in your respective state. This is really for my friends (ie: the people that read this).
